Suggested Itineraries

North Island: Coromandel (Highly Recommended)

1-3 days highlights include:

Stunning coastline, deserted golden beaches, Giant Kauri, rugged native forest clad mountains, secluded inlets and a myriad of short and medium length bushwalks. If you're heading straight here from Auckland, enquire about our wicked cruise and car packages. Start your trip with a 2 hour cruise through the inner Hauraki Gulf and collect your car from our depot in Coromandel town.

Dining Tip!

Stop at the mussel farm and grab some fresh green lips. Coconut steamed mussels is really cheap and easy. Here's what to do with them next: You need: 1 onion, 1 can coconut cream, 1 bottle sweet Thai chilli sauce, and 1 big pot.
Place the mussels in the pot with about 1cm of water in the bottom of the pot, cover the pot and allow to steam for a few minutes. Check fairly regularly, as the mussels begin top open up, pour in sweet chilli sauce, coconut milk and onion (you can also add coriander and ginger if you have it). Allow to steam until the mussels are well open, Eat when they are cool enough to pick up! Add in a baguette to mop up the sauce and all up your looking at about $10 to feed two people. DO NOT eat mussels that don't open.
