General Rental Car Information: Insurance Bond

Credit cards from holders who are not present when the car is hired can be accepted as security providing we receive an authority from the holder that the card can be used specifically for the hire in question – this must include a statement along the lines of:

“I, George Bush, authorize Ace Rental Cars to use my visa card as security for insurance purposes in the hire of Joe and Sheila Smith.”

Note that the credit card must have sufficient free funds to cover the excess; unless the hirer has taken one of our CDW excess reduction options, we will authorise the amount of the excess on the credit card provided.
